“My journey into the world of nutrition started about 10 years ago and was, like for so many nutrition professionals, triggered by my own health challenges. After spending over a decade in the corporate world, working in the never-stopping international communication research space, I was diagnosed with two autoimmune conditions, both quite likely triggered by my highly stressful and always-on-the go life at the time.

I saw a number of doctors, but unfortunately none of the treatments they recommended offered a long-term solution, and some of them were quite invasive as well. On top of that, the researcher in me thought – there must be another, gentler way of sorting out my health. After weeks of going through all the studies and articles I could get my hands on, I realised that changing my nutrition might just be that other, gentler way. So I decided to give this a go first, before resorting to the traditional medical treatments.

Over the next few weeks and months I radically changed my eating habits and certain parts of my lifestyle and very soon I started seeing the first results – better energy, improved sleep, healthier skin, more stable digestion, no more period pain etc. A year later, all the symptoms associated with my autoimmune conditions were gone, and my labs came back normal.
Having this experience and realising how powerful the food we eat every day is – and how unhealthy my corporate lifestyle was! – I decided to change my career, leave the corporate world and focus on helping others optimise their health through nutrition too.

When searching for the best place to study, I must have looked at tens of different providers all around the world. However, even then, IHS stood head and shoulders above the rest, both in terms of the curriculum range and depth, as well as the course accreditations, so deciding where to study was actually quite simple in the end. And – having now worked in the nutrition space for several years, I appreciate the quality of the IHS education even more. Aside from giving me solid nutrition knowledge based on science that helps my clients change their lives for the better every day, it also equipped me with strong coaching skills – a combination that is surprisingly hard to find in other nutrition courses.

These days, the majority of our clients at Nourishi include professional women, who are looking to optimise their health, despite their busy and often stressful lives. We are also growing our corporate portfolio, where we help companies put in place nutrition and wellbeing programs that support their employees’ health, wellbeing and performance in the workplace.
Our team now includes several certified nutrition coaches, a mindfulness coach and a functional medicine practitioner, and we are looking to grow it further over the next few months.
